# Form submissions

Review signup counts, submission outcomes and the contacts created by each form.

Check a form's statistics and recent submissions to understand how it grows your audience. See how many visitors signed up and whether each submission created or updated a contact.

## Open a form's results

Go to **Forms** and open a form. Its page shows the statistics, the **Recent submissions** list and the sharing details.

## Form statistics

| Statistic | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Views** | How many times the form loaded, on the hosted page or your website |
| **Submissions** | Every submission received, including ones dropped as bots |
| **Submit rate** | Real submissions per view |
| **New contacts** | Signups that created a new contact |
| **Contacts updated** | Signups from someone who was already a contact |
| **Pending** | Double opt-in signups still waiting to confirm by email (shown when double opt-in is on) |
| **Honeypot** | Bot-like submissions that were dropped |

A low submit rate on a popup that loads on every page is normal. If a hosted link has many views but few signups, try a shorter form or a clearer heading.

## Recent submissions

**Recent submissions** lists each submission, newest first, with the contact, its status and its source. Use **Status** to filter by:

- **Contact created**: a new contact was added with email consent and joined the form's group.
- **Contact updated**: the person was already a contact. Their details were updated and they gave consent again.
- **Awaiting confirmation**: double opt-in is on and they haven't clicked the confirmation link yet. They aren't in the group and get no marketing email until they confirm.
- **Honeypot detected**: a bot filled in the hidden field. Nothing was added.

For privacy, the list doesn't show the values people typed. To see what a person submitted, open their contact: the fields they filled in are saved on their profile.

## What happens after someone signs up

When a submission is accepted:

1. Kirora finds or creates the contact by email address.
2. It records email consent, with the form's consent wording as evidence. See [Consent and unsubscribes](/docs/guides/contacts/consent-and-unsubscribes).
3. The contact joins the form's group, plus any groups or topics they ticked.
4. Any journey triggered by **Submits a form** starts for them, shortly after.

The visitor sees the same thank-you message or redirect whatever happened, so the form never reveals whether someone was already on your list.

With double opt-in, steps 2 to 4 happen only after the person confirms. Someone who submits twice in a day gets one confirmation email, and the first link still works.

## Find form signups elsewhere

- **Contacts**: filter by the form's group to see everyone who joined through it.
- **Segments**: build a segment of recent signups for a welcome campaign. See [Segments](/docs/guides/contacts/segments).
- **Journeys**: filter the **Submits a form** trigger to one form when you have several.

## Troubleshooting

- **No views at all from your website**: check the address under **Where it may be embedded** exactly matches your site, including `https://` and `www`, with no page path or trailing slash, and that the form is published.
- **Lots of honeypot or bot signups**: turn on **Require a CAPTCHA**. See [Create a signup form](/docs/guides/forms/create-a-signup-form#protect-it-from-bots).
- **Signups stuck as pending**: ask people to check their spam folder for the confirmation email.
