# Create your workspace

Create your first workspace, set its business details and time zone, and prepare for sending.

Your workspace brings one business or brand's contacts, campaigns, journeys, templates and settings together. When you sign up, Kirora creates your first workspace and makes you its owner. Start by setting the details your team will use for sending.

Sign-up takes four short steps, shown as **Step 1 of 4** to **Step 4 of 4** at the top of the card.

1. Go to the sign-up page, enter your **Work email** and choose **Continue**.
2. On **Check your email**, enter the six-digit code we sent you. The code works for 10 minutes. If it hasn't arrived, choose **send another** (available after a short wait).
3. On **About you**, enter your first name, last name and a password. Your name is what teammates see.
4. On **Your workspace**, enter your **Business name**, for example *Juniper Kitchen*. We fill in your country and time zone from your browser. Choose **Change** if either is wrong.
5. Tick the box to accept the Terms, then choose **Create workspace**.

Your workspace opens straight away. There's no separate email confirmation, because the code already proved your address.

## Answer the setup questions

Next, **Get started** asks a few questions so it can suggest the right next steps:

1. **What you'll send**: emails to your customers, messages your store or app sends automatically, or push notifications. Then say where your customers are now (a spreadsheet, your store or payment provider, or nowhere yet).
2. **Your sending domain and address**: enter the domain you'll send email from, such as `mail.juniperkitchen.com`, and your business postal address. See [Set up a sending domain](/docs/guides/getting-started/set-up-a-sending-domain).
3. **What's next**: the DNS records to publish, plus suggested first steps.

You can choose **Skip setup** or **Skip for now** at any point and come back later.

## Finish setting up from the Overview

Until your workspace is ready, the **Overview** page shows a **Finish setting up** checklist:

- **Verify a sending domain** (required for email)
- **Add your postal address** (required for marketing email)
- **Add your audience**
- **Create your first message**
- **Set up your push app** (optional, for push)
- **Send your first message**
- **Get your first open**

Each item ticks itself off when the work is done. If something stops being true later, for example a domain loses its verification, the item comes back.

## Check your workspace settings

Open **Settings** from the top bar, then **General**.

- **Workspace name**: what teammates see when they switch workspaces.
- **Country**
- **Time zone**: schedules are read in this time zone. Quiet hours and date-based journeys also use it for contacts who don't have their own time zone.
- **Postal address**: shown in the footer of every marketing email, as the law requires in most places. Campaigns and journeys can't send marketing email without it. Receipts and other transactional messages don't need it.

Only the workspace owner can change these settings. Everyone else can view them.

> **Warning:** If you clear the postal address, scheduled campaigns and active journeys will fail to send marketing email until you add one again.

## Add another workspace

If you run more than one brand, or want a separate workspace for testing, you can create another from the workspace switcher. Each has its own contacts, templates, sending domain and settings. See [Workspaces](/docs/guides/account/workspaces).

## Protect your account

Under **Settings**, open **Two-factor sign-in** to add a code from an authenticator app each time you sign in. See [Security and access](/docs/guides/account/security-and-access).
